FreeBSD 4.6 Release November 28 is the last representative of the branch 6.xx!

Release Notes:

  • New and Improved much-NFS Lock Manager (NLM) client
  • Support for the Camellia cipher
  • Boot loader allow exchange, Things Among Others, booting from USB devices and booting from GPT-labeled GPT-enabled devices with BIOSes
  • DVD install ISO images for amd64/i386
  • KDE updated to 3.5.10, GNOME updated to 2.22.3
  • Updates for BIND, sendmail, OpenPAM, and others

FreeBSD 7 has to recall optimizations consistent in SMP / multiprocessing! : D
