Ubuntu Jaunty uses a kernel Linux 2.6.28 and allows us to use ext4. The startup speed verions of this is certainly what everyone will remember. The speed of global ubuntu is also improved Elsewhere I invite you to visit the benchmarking test on the English site Phoronix or it wins in 10 tests over 15 cons Fedora 11.

Ubuntu 9.04 is very stable in use and the proprietary video drivers ATI & NVIDIA are easy to fit at least for me (ATI & Multi-screen).
To get to the essence you in Ubuntu Jaunty:

- Support for file system journaling EXT4 which is fast
- Xorg 1.6, GNOME 2.26
- Boot in less than 20 seconds for the recent stations
- Evolution 2.26.1 (a bit like Outlook better :) ) Which can import your data from Outlook to Evolution (email, contacts, appointments, tasks ...)

Very good stable and fast
